North Wollongong Beach

Ideal for families, North Wollongong Beach has rock pools, wading areas and good surf. There is plenty of grass, shade, and picnic booths plus a children’s playground is close by in Stuart Park. North Wollongong is the only beach that’s patrolled all year round, making it the perfect place to bring the kids!

Corrimal Beach

If you’re wanting a beach that is a bit more private, head to Corrimal Beach north of Wollongong. The beach is 1.4 kilometres long and backed by fenced sand dunes, grassy reserves and the tourist park. A small lagoon proves popular with children for shallow paddling, however Corrimal is only patrolled from the commencement of NSW school holidays.

Fairy Meadow Beach

Offering fantastic views south to Wollongong, Fairy Meadow Beach is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Close to the university accommodation, students often visit the beach, as well as families who are staying nearby in the tourist park.

Bulli Beach

This picturesque beach is 900 metres long, backed by sand dunes and a large parkland area ideal for family picnic and gatherings. This beach proves to be popular all year round due to the nearby caravan park. Bulli is an on-lead dog friendly beach during certain times, in summer before 9am and after 6pm and in winter before 9am and after 4pm.

Bellambi Beach

Bellambi Beach is at the southern end of a two kilometre stretch of beach and is backed by a reserve with distant mountain views. The beach is extremely popular for fishing with the boat ramp and small harbour nearby. Bellambi continues south to the creek mouth and point, with a rock pool on the southern rocks.
